William is the second child of William & Eva (Hagen) Weisleder.
Wm Whitewater is listed on the 1860 U.S. Census1 with Wm and Eva Whitewather. They lived in Ida, Monroe, Michigan. He is also listed on the 1870 U.S. Census2 with William and Eva Wisleter, aged 13. On the 1880 U.S. Census3 there is a William Weisledder aged 22, born in Michigan and his parents were both born in Prussia, working at shipyards, and living in Wyandotte, Wayne, Michigan. I believe this is the son of Wm and Eva. The question is did he develop Typhoid fever and then went home to die? Death records from Monroe County, Michigan4 (FHL 977.432 v2d vol.) has William Weistiller, aged 23, died 28 July 1880. His parents are William Wistiller and Eva, cause of death Typhoid fever. This would be a few short weeks after the census had been taken.
This would appear to be the eldest son of William and Eva (Hagan) Weisleder. He was born between 1857 and 1858. The records would appear he was born between June1-July 28.
At age 22 did he go to work in the shipyards, or have we not located in him elsewhere in 1880? The death record indicates he died of Typhoid fever5, did he contract it while working at the shipyards, as 1880’s was a time when it was very prevalent. Although it did not appear that any other member of his family died at this time.
